Checking my backlinks

I’ve been checking my backlinks to some of my lenses and they’re pretty good  though I know I need a lot more from other domains. However, I’m wondering why a number of backlinks have not yet been picked up by Google. These backlinks are on forums, websites and webrings. Could it be that they are no-follow? Or does that not matter for backlinks?

My blog commenting has slowed down a bit at the moment. I’m trying to figure out the best search terms to use to find blogs for some of my lens subjects. I might just give publishing a lens targeted towards Squidoo lensmasters a rest and concentrate on subjects that are useful for the entire internet. Although, luckily, the subjects of some of my squidoo targeted lenses can be useful for all web-users and not just for lensmasters.

Although my article for Mooncup is not showing up as a backlink yet I’m receiving traffic from it. This makes my Mooncup lens my second highest ranked lens below Pernicious Anaemia. Using a saying for my What does not destroy me lens has been a good idea as this lens is my 3rd ranking lens.

I might just use this idea again :)

Now, I need to get down and finish this book editing as I’ve got so many other jobs I should be doing. I also need to interact more on some of the social networking sites I’ve joined as the traffic from those sites are poor.

In an attempt to get these low ranking lenses off the bottom, I’ve been searching for social networking sites and forums (yes, I hate forums but I’m taking these one step at a time) on specific subjects to further increase my backlinks.

I’ve joined, so far, two paranormal sites (one looks dead so am not sure how good that one’s going to be so joined another one), one natural forum which I’m waiting on account activation from and one gaming community.

There are a couple of other health related communities I’ve joined but I’ve not been overly active in those recently.

I should now go back and use one of these blog commenting software that I had obtained to see how good they are in the search for blogs to comment on.

Post will be written on Squidalogue Promotion shortly :)

Have you been checking your backlinks?

Squidoo Tip!

Keep an eye out for any backlinks to your lenses; you never know when your lens will feature on someone’s blog somewhere!

Teehee! I’m so wicked…

If no one can find it, I’ll let you know where it is later :)
